Main differences

In the beginning, we would like to address, that both robotic vacuums are a decent choice, especially in this price range. What’s more, we are convinced, that most of the consumers will be satisfied with either one of them. However, there are some things to keep in mind before you make the final decision.

The first major difference is the suction power. This factor directly translates to the overall cleaning performance, therefore we highly value a satisfying suction power. The Eufy 30c has an advantage over the Deebot 500, as it has a maximum suction of 1500 Pa. The Deebot 500 also presents a satisfying suction power, coming with a maximum power of 1000 Pa.

The second crucial dissimilarity is the dust bin capacity. It’s the main limiting factor when it comes to the maximum cleaning time (just next to the battery life). Once again, the Eufy 30c has a slight advantage over its competitor with a dust bin capacity of 20 oz. Although, the Deebot 500 has a dust bin capacity of 18 oz. which still should be enough.

Another important difference is the noise level. As opposed to the standard, upright vacuum, the robotic ones strive to achieve the lowest noise level while still staying relatively quiet. The Deebot 500 operates at a noise level similar to a standard vacuum which is 65 dB (most of the upright vacuums produce around 70 dB).

The Eufy 30c beats his competitor by reducing the noise level to only 55 dB (which falls under the category of a standard conversation).

The next crucial dissimilarity is the boundary strip system. This feature is only available in the Eufy 30c, and it allows you to keep the robotic vacuum within a selected border. There is, unfortunately, no way to achieve a similar function in the Deebot 500.

The last difference is the battery. While both robotic vacuums have a lithium-Ion battery implemented, there is a difference when it comes to the cleaning and charging time. The Deebot 500 allows for a maximum cleaning time of 110 min, while the Eufy 30c allows for only 90/100 min depending on the power of suction.

The charging time is also reduced in the Deebot 500 to 4 hours, while the Eufy 30c needs from 4 to 5 hours, in order to be at 100%.

Those are pretty much all the important factors when it comes to choosing your new robotic vacuums. Based on those aspects, you can already decide which of the vacuums is a more suitable option for your household. Both Deebot 500 (Click here to see the price!) and Eufy 30c (Click here to see the price!) are listed at the Amazon.

However, we highly recommend reading the rest of the article, to get some more well-detailed information about each of the products. At the end of the article, you can also find a winner of this comparison.

Cleaning performance

This is one of the most, if not the most, important aspects when it comes to choosing your new vacuum. By this, we mean how well a particular model removes the deeply embedded dirt and debris, compared to products from a similar price range.

We have to say, that both robotic vacuums provide a very efficient cleaning performance. Everyday cleaning shouldn’t be a problem for either one of them, as long as you do proper maintenance.

That being said, the Eufy 30c still provides a higher suction power, therefore it does better in more demanding conditions. It’s certainly a more appealing option if your house has lots of low and medium-pile carpets, which like to catch all the dirt and debris.

The manufacturer rates the suction power in the Eufy 30c to be around 1500 Pa, while the Deebot 500 boasts a suction power of 1000 Pa. For most of the time, the difference won’t be noticeable but in demanding conditions it can make a change.

When it comes to the suction, it will change depending on the current surface. Both vacuums have a function, that allows them to increase or decrease the suction with the use of special sensors.

Note: Both Deebot 500 and Eufy 30c are suitable only for low and medium-pile carpets.

Another dissimilarity in terms of cleaning performance is the boundary strip system. It allows you to keep the vacuum within the previously set borders, using a special boundary strip. This feature is only available in the Eufy 30c, and the Deebot 500 doesn’t have any function, that would result in a similar outcome.

Both devices also offer a number of different cleaning modes, which allow you to easily adjust the cleaning process. Since they can be quite confusing, we will touch on those in the latter part of the article.

The climbing threshold in the Eufy 30c is similar to the one in the Deebot 500, and it’s approximately 0.63 in., which should be enough for most people.

Both vacuums operate in a similar way, introducing one main brush and two side brushes. This combination creates a sufficient cleaning path and sucks in the majority of encountered dirt and debris.

Those are pretty much all the important aspects when it comes to the overall cleaning performance. Of course, there are also factors that alter the cleaning performance indirectly but we will touch on those later. From the paragraphs below, we would say, that Eufy 30c provides more efficient performance.

Battery life

The battery life is a crucial aspect when it comes to choosing your new robotic vacuum cleaner. It will determine the overall cleaning time, which can be important especially to people with large households.

Both vacuum cleaners run on a lithium-ion battery which is a standard choice for many manufacturers. However, the battery and charging time slightly differs, so we decided to touch on this aspect.

For the Deebot 500, the maximum cleaning time is approximately 110 min., while the Eufy 30c has this time reduced to 90 or 100 min. depending on the suction used. The charging time is also in favor of the Deebot 500, which is 4 hours when the Eufy 30c ranges from 4 to 5 hours.

Dust bin capacity

Another factor that limits the maximum cleaning time is the dust bin capacity. For both vacuums, the capacity is rather typical, compared to other products from this price range. This, however, allows the units to remain optimal in terms of size and weight.

The Deebot 500 has a tank capacity of 18 oz., while the dust bin capacity of Eufy 30c is approximately 20 oz. It clearly speaks in favor of the Eufy 30c, although, the difference is small.

Cleaning modes

Both robotic vacuums come with a number of cleaning modes, that allow you to adjust the cleaning process for your needs. We highly value this possibility in new robotic vacuum cleaners, as it helps to save both time and battery.

In order to learn more about all of the cleaning modes, you should go to the official manufacturer’s website or read the user’s guide, however, we will try to give you some basic idea about each one of them.

Both Deebot 500 and Eufy 30c include cleaning modes, such as:

  • Auto-cleaning – This mode is used for the majority of the cleaning, as it uses the most versatile and convenient cleaning technology. The cleaners work by finding the best possible path by utilizing different modes offered by the manufacturer until the cleaning area is done. In this mode, both robot vacuums will find the charging port and recharge, if the battery runs out.
  • Spot cleaning – This mode can be launched using a touch control panel. It will result in the unit cleaning only the current area using a spiral pattern. This function will work best in places that are extra dirty or those which need some extra attention. When it comes to the length of this mode, it can last up to two minutes.
  • Edge cleaning – This function works by finding the edges, such as walls, furniture, etc., and cleaning them. When it comes to the length of this mode, it can take some time as it lasts up to 20 min.
  • Quick cleaning – In this mode, the vacuum will automatically stop cleaning after 30 minutes and then, it will return to the charging base. It’s a great way to save time and power.

Once again, we highly recommend reading more about those in the user’s guide, or on the official manufacturer’s website.

Remote control features

Many manufacturers like to offer remote control features for extra convenience. The standard way to operate your new vacuum would be an official app, offered by the brand. However, there are often many more options, that you can use.

Both Eufy 30c and Deebot 500 offer a number of remote control features. Either one of the vacuums can be accessed using a special app, in which you can change the cleaning mode, schedule the cleaning time, and more.

They are also fully compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and included a remote controller.

We think, that this number of control features should satisfy most of the consumers.

Design

The design is an important part of every robotic vacuum since it’s hard to balance the optimal cleaning path and slim construction. Those units should fit under most of the furniture, in order to clean those hard-to-reach spots.

Fortunately, both vacuums have a convenient design with an efficient cleaning path, as well as a slim design. If you would like to see some more technical information, the Deebot 500 measures 12.9 x 12.9 x 3.07 in. and weighs approximately 4.4 lb., while the Eufy 30c is 12.79 x 12.79 x 2.85 in. and weighs 5.9 lb.

On the top of the cover, you can find the most important control, which is the on/off power button.

Price

The price is usually the first thing to check when buying a new vacuum cleaner. Therefore, you may already know the price difference, although, we still decided to touch on this aspect.

Firstly, we would like to address, that the price fluctuates, therefore it may already be not up to date. However, right now you can find the Deebot 500 listed on Amazon for the price of $279.99 (Click here to see the price!).

The Eufy 30c can also be found on Amazon, for the price of $179.99 (Click here to see the price!).

Necessary maintenance

This aspect is unfortunately often skipped by most people. In our opinion, it’s a huge mistake, since it’s essential to keep your new vacuum cleaner operating at the desired level and to prevent any permanent damage.

In order to learn all the crucial maintenance steps, you should thoroughly read the user’s guide. However, we will try to give you the basic tips, which will work for most robotic vacuum cleaners.

In order to keep your new device operating at the desired level, you need to:

  • Regularly clean/rinse all the brushes
  • Regularly check the brush roll and side brushes for any stuck dirt and/or debris
  • At least once a week clean the cover of the vacuum/wheels
  • Replace any used or damaged elements as fast as possible

Once again, we highly recommend reading the included user’s guide, since it will teach you all the crucial maintenance steps.

Conclusion

In conclusion, both Deebot 500 and Eufy 30c are very decent robotic vacuum cleaners. What’s more, most people should be satisfied with either one of them. However, there are some things to keep in mind before you make the final decision.

The most important dissimilarities to keep in mind are the suction power (1500 Pa in Eufy 30c and 1000 Pa in Deebot 500), dust bin capacity (larger in Eufy 30c), noise level (smaller in Eufy 30c), battery life (better in Deebot 500), boundary strip system (present only in Eufy 30c).

Those are pretty much all the crucial differences, that you should keep in mind. Based on those factors, we would say, that the Eufy 30c is a winner of this comparison. However, the Deebot 500 would also provide a satisfactory performance most of the time.

We hope, that after reading this article, you will be satisfied with your final choice.
