Main differences
At the beginning, we would like to address, that both products are a reasonable choice in this price range. What’s more, we are sure, that most of the people will be satisfied with either one of the products. However, there is one key difference to keep in mind, before you make the final decision.
Both units are rather similar in terms of the design, cleaning system, brushes, suction, etc. However, there is one major difference and it’s the boundary strip system. This feature is only present in the Eufy 35c, the competing model doesn’t have the special sensor included.
It’s a system, that allows you to keep the robotic vacuum in a particular area with the special boundary strip, which is included in the package. The products, unfortunately, don’t allow you to create any virtual walls inside the app, because they don’t include any floor mapping technology.
Therefore, the boundary strip is the only way to keep the Eufy 35c from reaching a specific area, without blocking it with some obstacles. We highly value this feature, however, it’s up to you to decide, whether it will be useful in your household.
Based on this difference, you can already decide which vacuum is a better choice, however, we would highly recommend reading the rest of the article. This will give you more detailed information about each of the models.
Cleaning performance
The cleaning performance is one of the most, if not the most, important factor when it comes to choosing a new cleaning device. By this, we mean how well a particular model does in comparison with other products from a similar price range. In this part, we will also include any information about the brush design, cleaning systems, etc.
To start off, both models utilize a “Triple Filter System”, which is a great way to keep all the dust from spreading around your household, during the cleaning process. Of course, this solution also isn’t perfect, as the filters need to be regularly replaced to keep the device operating at the desired level.
When it comes to the cleaning, both products offer 1500 Pa suction, which should be more than enough for a day-to-day cleaning. Either one of the vacuums will be a great helper in this boring chore, however, cleaning extra-dirty spots and stubborn debris may be a challenge.
“The 3-Point Cleaning System” works by loosening up the dirt with side brushes and the main brush roll. After that, the dirt gets sucked into the 0.6 l dustbin, which is removable and easy to rinse. This is great news, as it makes the whole maintenance process easier.
Note: Both Eufy 25c and Eufy 35c are suitable for low and medium-pile carpets, tile, laminate, and hardwood floors, however, they shouldn’t be used on high-pile carpets or very dark-colored floors.
A very important feature is the “BoostIQ” technology, which works by increasing the suction within 1.5 seconds if needed. This allows the vacuum to take care of the particularly troublesome area such as carpets.
The climbing threshold is also exactly the same, it’s 0.63 in., meaning that both products shouldn’t have any problem climbing on most of the carpets or thresholds.
As we mentioned earlier, there is no floor mapping, therefore, the devices can’t utilize features such as in-app virtual walls, room selection, or choosing the most effective path. Those robotic vacuums operate by choosing the path randomly until they are done cleaning. They can, however, find their way to the charging port if needed.
There are also basic sensors implemented, in order to keep the devices from falling or hitting random objects.
Many people also value the low noise level during the cleaning process, and in all honesty, those products are 100% deliver on this aspect. The standard noise level for both products is around 55 dB (it’s no louder than a microwave).
Battery life
The battery life is another crucial factor when choosing a new robotic vacuum. You don’t want to have the vacuum constantly cleaning only half of your house. Therefore, you need to pay attention to this aspect, especially if you live in a bigger household.
Both products are equipped with a 2600 mAh Lithium-Ion battery, which should be sufficient for most of the people. This solution allows the vacuums to clean for approximately 100 minutes on standard suction mode, and for around 60 minutes on BoostIQ mode. The first one is usually used for hardwood floors, while the latter one is utilized during carpet cleaning.
If needed, the vacuums will return to the docking station to recharge automatically. It’s very convenient as the units are attention-free most of the time.
Remote Control features
The remote control features are another convenient aspect of robotic vacuums. Thanks to this, most of the vacuuming can be done using only your phone or a voice control system.
Both Eufy 25c and Eufy 35c are fully compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa, so by saying simple commands you can start the vacuuming process. It’s not the only convenient remote control feature, as the Eufy has a separate, official app.
It allows you to schedule the cleaning process on a particular day or hour. There’s also an option to “Find your robot” which turns on a special sound to easily locate the unit. There are also standard features included such as remote control, changing cleaning modes, or the ability to receive notifications.
All of those combined, create a super convenient and comfortable way to operate either one of those units. You don’t need to get out of the bed, in order to schedule a cleaning or have all your floors shining.
Cleaning modes
Some people also like the adjustability of the vacuum. It really allows to make the whole process more effective, so it’s definitely something to keep in mind. Those vacuums also provide some flexibility in terms of cleaning modes, and that’s what we are going to focus on.
Both Eufy 35c and Eufy 25c have four cleaning modes, which is a standard when it comes to this brand. Those are the following:
- Auto-cleaning – This mode is used for the majority of cleaning, as it uses the most versatile and convenient cleaning technology. The cleaners work by finding the best possible path by utilizing different modes offered by the manufacturer until the cleaning area is done. In this mode, both robot vacuums will find the charging port and recharge, if the battery runs out.
- Spot cleaning – This mode can be launched using a touch control panel. It will result in the unit cleaning only the current area using a spiral pattern. This function will work best in places that are extra dirty or those which need some extra attention. When it comes to the length of this mode, it can last up to two minutes.
- Edge cleaning – This function works by finding the edges, such as walls, furniture, etc., and cleaning them. When it comes to the length of this mode, it can take some time as it lasts up to 20 min.
- Quick cleaning – In this mode, the vacuum will automatically stop cleaning after 30 minutes and then, it will return to the charging base. It’s a great way to save time and power.
Those are all four cleaning modes which are provided by the vacuums. As you can see, with this set of features, you can easily adjust the cleaning process to your needs. Even without the mapping technology, we’ve found that those vacuum cleaners can be very effective, thanks to this versatility.
Weight and size
The design of robotic vacuums has to be properly balanced, in order to provide a sufficient cleaning path, while staying relatively small. Eufy, fortunately, is great at combing all the features into one slick and portable design.
The dimensions given by the manufacturer for both products are completely the same, measuring exactly 12.8 x 12.8 x 2.85 in. and weighing 5.95 lb. Those dimensions allow the unit to fit under most of the furniture and still clean a pretty wide path on its way.
On the top of the cover, you can find a touchpad with basic control features, and those allow you to: start and stop cleaning, turn the Wi-Fi on and off, switch to spiral mode or return to the docking station. This can be useful if you don’t have any other way to control the vacuum at the moment.
The manufacturer also reinforced the construction with bumpers, that allow prevent the vacuums from any damage.
Price
The price difference is also a quite important aspect since it’s pretty significant between those models. That’s the reason why choosing between them may be hard for most of the people. Of course, the price often fluctuates, so the numbers given below may not be up to date.
The Eufy 25c can be found on Amazon right now, for the price of approximately $169.99, while the Eufy 35c is priced significantly higher, which is approximately $250. You have to decide for yourself whether an additional feature in the Eufy 35c is worth the extra money.
Necessary maintenance
A step, that’s often skipped when looking for a new cleaning device is the maintenance. Products, that allow easy maintenance will be significantly easier to take care of, which translates to longer livability and better performance in the long run.
What’s more, almost every producer recommends a standard maintenance of your new product, so it can operate at the desired level. This will also prevent any permanent damage.
We won’t be getting into specifics here, however, we would like to give you some basic maintenance tips, so you can quickly learn the most necessary steps. Although, we highly recommend reading the user’s guide.
In order to keep your new device operating at the desired level, you need to:
- Regularly clean/rinse all the brushes
- Regularly check the brush roll and side brushes for any stuck dirt and/or debris
- At least once a week clean the cover of the vacuum/wheels
- Replace any used or damaged elements as fast as possible (In the package you can find 1 main brush, 4 side brushes)
Those are some basic steps, in order to take care of your new robotic vacuum, however, once again we strongly suggest reading the user’s guide.
Conclusion
In conclusion, both robotic vacuums are a great option, especially in this price range. Either one of the products should satisfy most of the consumers, however, there is one key difference, that you should keep in mind before you make the final decision.
This major difference is the boundary strip system. It’s only present in the Eufy 35c, and it allows you to block a particular area from vacuuming, with included piece of boundary strip. There is no other way to do this since there’s no floor mapping implemented in either one of the products.
There is also a pretty significant price difference between those two products, however, it’s a factor that can quickly change. Based on those aspects, we would say, that the Eufy 25c is a winner of this comparison. This is mainly due to the high price of the Eufy 35c, and in our opinion, the additional feature is not worth the money.
However, we base our choice on our own household, therefore you need to analyze which vacuum is better for your situation. If the boundary strip system is essential for you, we would suggest getting the Eufy 35c without hesitation.
We hope, that after reading this article, you are satisfied with your final choice.
